Small gestures, large rewards
The following letter to Josh Linda of Interstate Navigation was copied to The Block Island Times:
Dear Mr. Linda,
The Board and volunteers of Helping Hands wish to again thank you for the amazing support you have provided to our organization, its mission, and the working residents who are in need. During the pandemic, with its economic issues, and now with inflation, we have been able to help feed those on the island who can’t keep adequate food on their tables.
We are able to do more because we aren’t paying for freight to get our groceries from the mainland to the island. That savings allows us to provide high quality, fresh food including produce, dairy, meat, and breads from local markets on the mainland.
Thank you so very much for your ongoing support!
The Board of Directors
