Water line work begins
Thu, 05/16/2019 - 3:30pm
The The following was issued by the Town Facilities Manager Sam Bird:
The Town has begun work on the water line installation on Champlin Farm Road. Weather and site conditions permitting we expect work will be completed within three weeks. Work will be performed 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
The work will commence at the far end of the road, at the Coast Guard Station, and will progress toward West Side Road. For the first week it is expected that the work will not progress past the bend in the road at the entrance to Charlestown Beach. The work will involve trenching and placement of the waterline and backfilling the trench as the work progresses.
All efforts will be made to provide access for traffic to pass but there are areas of narrow road where traffic may be blocked during the work for a period. We appreciate your understanding and will work to keep the inconvenience to a minimum.
