Senior Ride Service Up and Running
The Senior Advisory Committee has reinstated the Senior Ride Service for island seniors, persons with special needs and caregivers without transportation. The cost is $3.00 per round trip. Block Island Ecumenical Choir
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church. Rehearsals for the fall concert. All who love to sing are welcome to join.
Halloween Party and Haunted House
The Block Island Student Council is hosting a Halloween Party and Haunted House at the Block Island School on Saturday, Oct. 19. The party begins at 6:30 p.m. and the haunted house is open at 7 p.m.
Community Pot Luck
Sunday, Oct. 20 at 12 p.m. at the Ocean View Pavilion. All are welcome. Please bring something to eat, apples to press, music to share.

Helping Hands Food Pantry
The first Helping Hands Food Pantry will be Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
Ethics Training
Rhode Island Ethics Commission Education Coordinator Lynn Radiches will conduct a training session on Block Island Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Training will take about one hour. Although the training is primarily for New Shoreham employees, volunteer board members and elected officials who are subject to the Rhode Island Code of Ethics, members of the public are welcome to attend.
National First Responders Day Celebration
To honor our volunteer Fire, Rescue and Police squads on Block Island, the Block Island Ecumenical Ministries group will be sponsoring a celebration in their honor at St. Andrew Parish Center on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. The entire island community is encouraged to come out to celebrate their contributions to our town with guest speakers, stories, prayers for blessings, and a time of refreshments. Please come to show your appreciation for our courageous and tireless volunteers.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Monday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. at the Harbor Church ladies’ parlor. All are welcome. Yarn and patterns will be available. The Block Island Prayer Shawl Ministry will be gathering on the fourth Monday of every month.
